June was an intense period for the Local Police of Getafe, which conducted a total of 3,850 actions in various areas of public safety. This effort was particularly focused on local festivities and other events that gathered large crowds, such as the celebrations in La Alhóndiga and Juan de la Cierva, as well as the Romería Rociera to Cerro de los Ángeles.
In this context, the police force managed to make 18 arrests, linked to crimes ranging from theft to gender-based violence and assaults. Additionally, 28 individuals were investigated for traffic-related offenses. The recovery of eight stolen vehicles also forms part of the positive balance for the month.
Apart from regular work, the Gender Violence Unit stood out with 683 actions, including protective surveillance for victims and interviews within the VioGén system. This proactive approach is crucial given the global increase in reported cases related to domestic violence.
The Tutor Agent played a key role in the educational field, carrying out 382 interventions. These actions included meetings with families and educational centres to address issues such as school absenteeism and bullying among minors.
Not only were common crimes addressed; there was also a strong presence in environmental issues. The Ecological Unit conducted 406 actions, focusing on the control of illegal dumping and problems related to noise pollution.
Throughout the month, 16 drug seizures were also recorded, along with 30 reports of excessive alcohol consumption in public spaces. These figures reflect a continuous commitment from the City Council to maintain safety and citizen well-being during festive events.
As summer progresses, citizens can expect an increase in preventive measures from the local police force. For those planning to attend future events or outdoor activities, it is advisable to pay attention to the recommendations issued by local authorities regarding public safety.
