A normal day turns into tragedy
On Thursday afternoon, the cultural centre La Despernada in Villanueva de la Cañada, Madrid, was the scene of a heartbreaking event that has left an entire community in shock. At 19:45, what seemed like a quiet day transformed into an episode of extreme violence when a minor was stabbed inside the premises of the centre.
According to initial reports, the attack occurred in a secluded area of the building, possibly near the bathrooms or areas close to the library. The injuries inflicted on the young boy were devastating; he sustained severe wounds to the chest, neck, and back. Emergency services were alerted quickly and arrived on the scene to find the minor in cardiac arrest.
Despite the heroic efforts of the medical team from SUMMA 112, who worked tirelessly to stabilise him before transferring him to Hospital 12 de Octubre, the minor did not survive the injuries sustained. The official account of Emergencias de la Comunidad de Madrid shared details about the operation deployed to try to save his life.
From the moment of the attack, the Guardia Civil has initiated an intense search to locate the suspect. Although his identity has not yet been officially confirmed, sources indicate that he may be a young person with problematic backgrounds and autism, known for his erratic behaviour among neighbours. This individual reportedly expressed recurring feelings of loneliness and helplessness.
The death of the boy, who was only 12 years old and played for the local youth team, has caused deep shock among the residents of Villanueva de la Cañada. In response to this tragedy, the Town Hall has decided to suspend all scheduled public events and call for a minute of silence as a mark of respect for the victim and his family.
Outside the cultural centre where the attack occurred, family and friends have gathered in silence to pay tribute to the lost minor. The community is still trying to come to terms with what happened as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
