A serious work accident shakes Alcalá de Henares
On Wednesday, a 37-year-old worker is in critical condition after falling while working on the roof of an industrial building located in the San Miguel industrial estate in Alcalá de Henares. The incident occurred around 14:10 hours, when the man fell through a skylight from a height ranging between six and eight metres.
Following the impact, emergency services arrived at the scene to assist the injured. According to reports from SUMMA112, the worker suffered a moderate cranioencephalic trauma, as well as a thoracic trauma, pelvic fracture, and another fracture in his left arm. The severity of his injuries led the medical staff to stabilise him quickly before transferring him to Hospital 12 de Octubre by helicopter, where he was admitted with a serious pre-notification.
The National Police have launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding this tragic work accident. Authorities are reviewing the conditions of the site and the safety measures implemented during the tasks the worker was performing at the time of the incident.
This event once again highlights the crucial importance of workplace safety, especially in sectors where activities are carried out at height. Current regulations must be strictly adhered to in order to prevent accidents that can have fatal consequences or leave permanent repercussions.
